Street Art @ My Prawn Village Tanjung Tualang
My Prawn Village, Tanjung Tualang, Perak, Malaysia - August 2020
My Prawn Village (Kampung Udang) located at Tanjung Tualang sell those famously yummy Udang Galah (giant fresh water prawns). We visited the place in early August, wanting to savour the prawns and other good seafood there; unfortunately the place had yet to reopen after the Covid-19 lockdown. We did meet the owner, Mr. Alex Wong, and was informed that he was getting ready to re-open the place in a couple of weeks.
Despite not eating there we did get to enjoy the place; the restaurant is located at the far end of a large compound AND within that compound were many artwork for us to appreciate. Due to photography angle, and for presentation purposes, many of photos shown here have been cropped, so it is better to go there and see these artworks for yourselves when you have the opportunity.
Below are the artwork, click on the photo to view. Enjoy!

A. TIN DREDGE - WORKING SCALED MODEL

Video of the working scaled model of a tin dredge that can be seen at this place. The boss, Alex Wong, kindly turned it on for us to see. (credits: Jeremy Phun)

B. CUTE WALL MURALS

A friendly Panda family having fun around a window.

A curious giraffe, peeping through a hole in the wall, while butterflies fly around a flowery bush.

Birds and butterflies flying above a flowery patch. Hanging above is a pair of ornamental ceiling lights.

Boat ladies harvesting lotus blooms from a lake. There is indeed a lotus pond in Kampar at the UTAR campus, but no boat ladies 😄.

A combo wrap-round the wall mural; showing lotus pound and also fishermen back with a boatload of fish.

Japanese sakuras (cherry blossoms ), in the background are snow-capped mountains similar to Mount Fuji.

A friendly colorful clown.

The girls being "friendly" with the friendly, colorful clown.

A long mural, taking the length of a whole wall (about 30 feet), of Udang Galah (giant fresh water prawns).

Another long mural, this one's of rickshaws.

C. PLACES OF INTEREST
Below are panel art of several places and things of interest:

D. THE ROCK ART SECTION

Below are artwork drawn onto rounded river stones:

Thumbs up icon; does this refer to the renown Ngan Yin groundnuts?

For the gambler; an almost complete flush.

Perak has many waterfalls, is this the renown Latar Kinjang near Tapah?

Care for a Rockburger? 😂

Spiral doughnut.

Or a Rock Melon..... Oops.... this in a rocky watermelon 😂.

A tiger's head?
This could refer to Malayan Banking or the Tiger Head Biscuits from Teluk Intan.

Lazing frogs. This one is my favorite, they seem so realistic - especially the top fella who seems to be well crafted into the shape of the stone.

A beehive....

..... and the bees.

More peaceful insects: ladybugs.

And eyeing them, a ferocious spider!

A pussycat but tiger wannabe?

A cute panda.... okay this fella is a bit out of shape, perhaps need to go do a bit of cycling 😂?

A cute Spotted Deer.

A shy tortoise.

Koi fish in a pond.

Starry, starry night.

E. STATUES & SCULPTURES
