Local-made Bentong Icecream Potong @ Bentong New Villages

Up in Bentong there's a secret.....
..... we were fortunate that a local friend took us to try this secret while cycling around the local villages of Bentong .....
IT'S Bentong ice-cream, not that milk ice-cream that many go to Bentong to try .....
BUT the local-made ones made from santan (coconut milk)
These are chunky lollipop ice-cream found only at a couple of grocery shops in the Bentong villages..... villages that very few tourists go to and thus very few get to try this secretly delicious ice-cream. One that's something like ice-cream potong but coming in chunky sizes.
They were served straight out from the freezer, still frosty!
They come in two layers, a larger fruity top layer and a creamy santan bottom layer.
The top layer comes in two flavours, refreshing jagong (corn) with real corn bits.....
OR a maroon Red Bean flavour, a favourite amongst local children!
Both the flavours a nice, but for me it's the creamy santan bottom that got to me - one can't get the same addictive creaminess from milk ice-cream.
So when up in Bentong next, go look for these ice-cream, they are very refreshing on a hot day!
