YummY! Jotaro's Food Review
NASI MELAYU @ FLOATING MOSQUE PENANG (Halal)
Kedai Makanan Lidiana, Tanjung Bunga, Penang, Malaysia - August 2015
This time he recommended that we try out Lidiana which operate from a stall at the food court opposite the Masjid Terapung Tanung Bunga (Floating Mosque). This one is suppose to be nice and also had more choice of dishes.
The choices for vegetables.
Some of the meat choices - Beef Kicap, Fried Chicken, Fried Fish, etc.
This is like buffet-style eating; get some rice and then go along the line and select dishes of your choice.
Some of their dishes:
Fish Rendang & Fish Curry.
Tofu Rendang and Tempeh Rendang. The tofu cooked with some grounded ground nuts is one of my favourites, this style of Tofu Rendang is not available in the Klang Valley.
Fish Curry.
Deep Fried Pomfret and Deep Fried Chicken.
Anther of my favourite, deep-fried Cencaru (Hard-scaled Scad) with sambal inserted through slits at the top.
My selection - deep-fried Cencaru, Tofu Rendang, stir-fried bean sprouts and curried lady-fingers.
The cencaru was very good, with cripsy edges to munch on. The skin to can be munch on to slowly extract the fishy oil flavour. As on peel away the skin and get to the meat a good aroma come out. The chilli went very well with the fresh fish meat.
The togu was fantastic, its base musky and slightly bitter flavour mixed well with the rendang gravy.
Drinks are served by the Lat Cafe at the stall just next door.
From the food court car-park, there is a good view of the Tanjung Bunga Floating Mosque.
Seating is within a roofed shared area of the food court.
