TUARAN MEE @ CITY FOOD CORNER
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia - November 2015
While on a cycling bike-packing tour in Sabah, we stopped at Tuaran for a rest. I have had heard much about the famous Tuaran Mee; but by the time we reached the town it was past noon and the stalls had finished selling this noodles.

So, a few days later, back in Kota Kinabalu, I was determined to try this noodles and went to the  City Food Corner (CFC) where amongst other things, they sell this renown noodles too. Located at the Sinsuran Street area, this corner shop is very noticeable with it's bright red signage.

The corner location means ample seating!
And the best thing about this place is that it is opened 24 hours a day, seven days a week. So anytime one feel hungry in Kota Kinabalu, just pop by this place and satisfy one's tummy.

Other than Tuaran Mee, this place serves a wide range of noodle such as tomyam, soto, laksa, fried keow teow, fried rice, etc.

More choices - Curry noodles. And a variety of fruit juices. They serve pretty good coffee and their toasted bread with butter and kaya is renown too.

The Fried Tuaran Mee came in two choices, chicken or seafood. I opted for the seafood version.

The noodles came, looking wet and slightly soggy with a bit of gravy... just the way I like it! It was stir fried together with some prawns, slices of fish cake and a generous helping of choy sum. The eggs were sort of scrambled and did their job well, they had absorbed the seafood flavour and spread it through the dish.
!YummY!

The noodles themselves were like wantan noodle but thicker and nicely bitey... that's what Tuaran Mee is about... it has to be home-made noodles like this.
Don't miss this, it's one of the good food in Kota Kinabalu to savour.

Other than noodles, CFC has a good range of pastry. Their loaves of bread for take-away seems popular.
