As in any major city, Kuala Lumpur has its share of graffiti where the free wandering artist expresses his inner self without judgement by his peers.

UPDATE 2019: Arising from this area being upgraded as part of the River of Life project, these murals are not there anymore, so these blogs will serve as a record of the artwork done by the various artists.

But what is different and unique about Kuala Lumpur's graffiti is their location and size - they are located down in the storm drains of the Klang River. Most of them are very large, easily thirty feet wide and as tall as the walls of the storm water drain that they are painted on, perhaps up to twenty feet high!

Posted here are some photos of the artwork for you to enjoy.
But bear in mind that my photos does not do justice to many of the artwork, especially the larger pieces, as the photos will not show the efforts put in by the artists in their detailing.

We went down there on our bicycles, a fairly large group of us, just after celebrating Kuala Lumpur maiden Car-Free Day (see KL Car-Free Day blog). I would however advise not to go down there by oneself as there are vagrants and homeless hanging around down there. It would be safer to go down in a group.
