PORK BURGERS @ MOS BURGER

Central World Mall, Bangkok, Thailand - July 2012

While on a quick trip to Bangkok (... see One Night In Bangkok blog), we popped into the Mos Burger join in Central World Plaza. Eversince I tried their pork burgers while on a trip to Japan (... see Japan : Osaka/Kyoto 2012 blog) I have been having a craving for them.

This particular Mos Burger outlet is located in the Central World Plaza shopping mall, convenient for a good meal while shopping, which we were doing.

At the clinically clean counter we made our orders - a Pork Cutlet Burger set and a Pork Cheese Burger.

The Pork Cutlet Burger - the cut of pork was fairly thick, it came with a generous helping of salad sandwiched between the bun.

Barbecue sauce of their own recipe was oozing out from in between the sesame-seed topped bun. It was a wee bit too sweet for my liking, perhaps it was attuned towards the Thai palate for sweeter things. The cut of pork itself was tender but firmer than that of a burger patty.

What I like about this set is that it came with chunky potato chips unlike those scrawny thin chips served by many other fast-food outlets. These were crispy on the outside and and full of good potato taste on the inside, Mmmmm.....

The set also comes with a soda drink; I opted for a glass of refreshing Coca-cola.

The Pork Cheese Burger came looking rather spartan, with just a slice of cheese on a thick minced pork patty.

But don't let the simpleness fool you. The pork patty, slightly burnt on the top and bottom, was very tender and juicy; that's why not much sauce was added so that one can taste the pureness of pork. The slice of cheese added well to the overall taste.

Yes... it was simple Japanese goodness.

The total bill came to 212 Bhats (about USD 7-00), which was very reasonable for a meal for two.

The Pork Cheese Burger was 63 Bhats. While the Pork Cutlet Burger Set came to 149 Bhats, they had a odd way of tabulating the bill for this set, so I did some re-calculation to get that amount.

Do take note that they sell Beefburgers, etc. too.
