YummY! - Mee Jawa @ Cafe Mee Jawa

Mee Jawa @ KAFE MEE JAWA  (Halal)
Publika, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - May 2013
I had to meet some cyclist friends at Publika. We decided to meet at Restoran Mee Jawa; as we have met here several times, it has become a sort of our unofficial meeting place. We cycled over from the Royal Selaongor Club, Bukit Kiara Sports Annexe.

I like the ambiance of the place, it's simplistic but at the same time cozy.
We arrived there at mid-morning at the place was not crowded as it would have been at other times. So our orders came pretty fast.

This being brunch time, my order was a small plate of mee jawa. This is a good idea by the restaurant, to have small portions. Small portions are good for breakfast or tea time, or even for ladies. Of course they do have the normal portions.
The mee jawa came some gravy/soup and was served with a good helping of curried cuttlefish, a slice of egg, a piece of cracker with strips of Chinese lettuce as garnishing. A slice of lime is also give for those who want that extra sour zing!

Stir the thick cuttlefish curry puree into the soup and Walah! The soup becomes something even better.

My other biking friends ordered the small portion of curry noodles. It was served with boiled long beans, bean sprouts and tau pok (deep fried bean curd) and also some sambal.

The soupy curry looks good, not too thick and not too diluted. AND it must have been good as my friends finished it all.

To go with my mee jawa I had iced Ipoh White coffee, it was good but slightly pricey. But then this place is in an upscale complex in a upmarket neighborhood.

Other than the indoor seating, there are also some outdoor seating.

To add some authenticity to the place, three antique red postman's bicycles were place at the outside corner. But perhaps, I think, it made the place more recognizable - "Hey! It's that place with the old red bicycles."
