Straat Museum Amsterdam
Amsterdam, Netherlands - October 2023
I like street art; and find them to be an expression of the artist feelings and opinions sometimes in a serious tone and often in a lighter tone. Street artists often portray themselves as free-spirits, looking for ways to change society through their artwork.

During a family holiday in Amsterdam, I visited the Straat Museum, one solely dedicated to street art. Although lacking the wanderlust of street art in public spaces, the museum had street artist to do their art (or have collected some of these street art) to be displayed in an indoor environment ensuring that they are not exposed to deterioration by the harsh elements.
Currently the museum displays more than 150 artworks by 130 over artists in an 8000 m2 former warehouse on the NDSM wharf within the Amsterdam Nord locality.

Indoor view of the murals on display.
These are the photos taken of the murals at the museum, many are at least a storey high and some even taller. For presentation purposes and due to photography angle, many of these photos have been cropped and edited to compensate for low lighting. It is better to visit the museum as nothing beats seeing the originals.
