The Rijksmuseum was founded in The Hague in 1800 and moved to Amsterdam in 1808, where it was first located in the Royal Palace. The current main building was designed by Pierre Cuypers and first opened its doors in 1885. It is one of the most visited museum in the Netherlands and with record numbers of 2.2 million and 2.47 million visitors. It is also the largest art museum in the country. I was most fortunate to visit it while on a tour of Europe.
These here are artwork from the second floor galleries.

These are the photos taken of the artwork at the museum; for presentation purposes and due to photography angle, many of these have been cropped and edited to compensate for low lighting. It is better to visit the museum as nothing beats seeing the originals.

Etched Windmill Cups - silver with floral etchings from Dordrecht (c.1650), Antwerp (c.1594-1595) & Utrecht (1642 or 1644).

Windmill Glass ornamented with Coats of Arms of Prince Maurice and the town of Bergen op Zoom - glass with diamond point engraving, parcel-gilt silver from the Low Countries (1595 / silver 1685).

Wooden Console Table with elaborately engraved legs - limewood, faux marble, with renewed marble top from the Netherlands (c.1650-1675).

Wooden baby linen cabinet - oak & walnut timber perhaps from Amsterdam (1655-1675).

Wooden Cabinet - softwood and oak veneered with ebony, rosewood & olivewood; inlaid with tortoiseshell, bone, painted marble & gilt copper; Antwerp (1680-1690).

Puzzle jug (The neck is perforated, so drinking the normal way the contents will spill over. It is possible to drink from it; opposite the handle is a little spout, the liquid is channeled through the hollow handle and the rim of the jug); jug made in Siegburg, lid in Cologne (c.1600).
