Curry Mee Noodles @ USJ 20
Tian Tian Coffee-shop, USJ 20/8c, USJ Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia - July 2015
Sometimes without actually looking for it, we find good food at unexpected corners. While at a 8TV cycling event to encouraged physically-challenged cyclists, we had a rest stop at Tian Tian Coffee-shop in USJ20. It was suppose to be a stop to regroup and perhaps buy some bottled drinks from the shop.
While getting the drinks I espied this family eating curry mee noddles, one look at it and from it's colour I knew it had to be good! So I quickly ordered a small bowl to try out, it was good and some friends who saw me eating also ordered. We had to quickly finish as the cycling was about to start again.

This is Ah Lai, the stall operator. He's a friendly fellow and his stall looks clean. A signboard at the stall said that he is the branch of the OUG side-lane curry mee.

The noodles was simple, it came with some tau pok, boiled long beans, fish balls, a few slices of fish cake, a couple of pieces of broiled chicken and bean sprouts. The fish ball were quite tasteless and Ah Lai could have done away with them and instead give more chicken. The long beans and bean sprouts were fresh and crunchy. The ingredients though fresh were nothing spectacular, same as what other stalls would give. It is the curry soup that is special, one that would get me and my friends to come eat this again.

Peering at the curry soup, it had a very consistent look, no rough spices spoiling it smooth look. In fact when drinking the soup, it would seemed that there were no residue, perhaps Ah Lai had filtered the soup through a cloth filter. That is exactly what one feels when sipping down the soup, it goes smoothly down with no residue interrupting its smoothness. The santan had been just nicely cooked, no "green" after-taste due to under-cooking or burnt flavour due to over-cooking.
It is not as thick as the KL curry laksa soup or as thin as White Curry Mee; falling in between it was just the great. Yes, this is the best curry mee soup that I have tasted!
If looking for good food at the USJ area, do try this one out. There will be no regrets.
