FOOD GALORE @ FOOD REPUBLIC (HALAL)
Pavilion Mall, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Whilst attending a seminar at Westin Hotel, we popped over to Food Republic food court at the Pavilion Mall.

The place was huge and was I surprised by the number of stalls at this food court. There are really so many that even if one comes here everyday, it will be at least a month before you are back at the same stall.

There were a few central islands larger stalls selling a variety of food from Penang or Ipoh, etc. At the perimeter there were even more stall, smaller ones - selling Malaysian food of all kinds and even Japanese, Korean, Taiwan, Western fare.
One is really spoilt for choice here.

Coming form Penang, I gravitated towards one of the central island stall selling -
What else but Penang Street Food!
Their menu on this side listed Mee Jawa, Fried Mee Jawa, Loh Mee & Fried Beehoon. I ordered the Mee Jawa.
The price seems a bit high when compared to those in Penang coffee-shops (which is about 40% of this) and those Kuala Lumpur coffee-shops (about 60% of this). But then we are in one of KL's premier shopping mall.

One the other side of the stall, they had Gurney Rojak Penang - Gurney being Gurney Drive in Penang. Looks fresh and good!
Irresistable! One please...

Ok... ok. Enuff of Penang Food. At the Little Ipoh stall, I ordered the renown Ipoh Hor Fun.

Time for drinks! We went for Ice Kacang and some "Tong Siu" from this "Sweetspoon" stall.

This stall looks so colorful - above are the ingredients for the Ice Kacang.

And ingredients for the other desserts.

Nice Lemon Jelly, authentically put in a pine wood bucket.

This stall also sell drinks both cold & hot.

The price list for the dessert & drinks.

The Ipoh Hor Fun came first.
Overall it was good but not as good as the Ipoh originals. The soup though sweet lack a certain sweetness. The Keow Teow noodles were slightly thicker.

The Mee Jawa came with a good amount of bean sprouts, crackers, curried cuttlefish and topped up with some Chinese Lettuce (instead of the normal lettuce). A piece of lime was also provide, "Squeeze for that additional sourish oomph!"

I liked this much better than the Ipoh Hor Fun as it was closer in taste to Penang Mee Rebus, not sour. But it lacked the prawns that normally comes with Mee Jawa.

Wow! This ice kacang really towers. Other than the usual red beans, corn & cincau; this one came with slices of mango. Good but a bit sourish.

The "Tong Sui" was Sea Coconut with White Fungus. Refreshing, cooling and just adequately sweet.

I had just sampled a few of what the place had to offer...
I WILL BE BACK!
